Have yet to do和Be yet to be done的意思一样，后者其实是前者的被动语态表达形式，使用前者的宾语作主语。两个句型都表示当前还没有做（或发生）某事，但这件事应当很快或者即将完成（发生），一般来说这两个词组都带有一些不耐烦、不高兴的意味。

例如：
Tom has yet to finish his homework. = Tom's homework is yet to be finished.
汤姆的作业还没有写完。（暗含“汤姆必须紧写了”的意思。）

The government has yet to announce its budget for next year.
政府尚未公布明年的预算。（暗含“当尽快公布”的意思。）

The water is yet to be boiled.
水还没烧开呢。（暗含“水就要烧开了”的意思。）

注意，由于have yet to do是现在完成时态的形式，所以它的否定句、疑问句的形式都按照现在完成时态变化。例如：

Have you yet to finish your homework？ = Is your homework yet to be done?
你作业还没有写完吗？（暗含“Would you finish it soon?”的意思。）

I haven't yet to see the movie.
我还没看过这部电影。（暗含“I'll watch it soon.”的意思。）

另外，虽然have yet to do是否定的意思，但是它是肯定的形式，因此它的反义疑问句要用否的形式。例如：
